Setting up a RIPE Atlas API key with bgp.tools

How to

  1. Go to https://atlas.ripe.net/keys/ and press “Create an API key”
  2. Fill the form out, keeping in mind of the common issues pointed out in the image below:
  3. Go to your org settings and insert the API key: https://bgp.tools/authed/manage-org

The website will check the API key works correctly before accepting it.

Why

With a RIPE Atlas API key entered in, you can use bgp.tools as a front end for RIPE Atlas for seamless traceroutes for debugging.

Any RIPE Atlas measurements done via the site will use Credits from the account linked to the RIPE Atlas API key.
